1. Power Posting What is Power Posting? It is a simple way to post on the internet, build backlinks, and notoriety on the web to help brand yourself and your marketing. Simply create a group of like-minded people and decide on a subject. When posting in forums use hyperlinks that relate to the group and hyperlinks that take people to your blogs and the blogs of others in the group. Often with a little communication, the entire group can go to a particular forum and begin posting on a single thread. One person can ask a question and someone else can answer it and before long you have created interest in your marketing information that others in the forum begin to comment on. This quickly to communication with others in the forum which leads to building relationships on which business can be transacted. Business is always based on a Know, Like and Trust Relationship so it helps to tune your postings to begin and solidify relationships with others in the forum so that you can begin doing business with them.
Power Posting on Blogs is simply blogging with your group of like-minded people on similar subjects and then using hyperlinks to refer to each others' blogs. Power Posting also includes using RSS feeds to increase your blogs popularity. RSS feeds help the spiders follow all of the latest information on your blog and the blogs of all the members in your group.
So, how do you form a group of like-minded people? You can do it yourself by building a website and marketing it so people will join you in your endeavor or you can join a group with similar goals. We have been building a marketing group called Purple Cowboy Marketing in which we teach you Power Posting and many other marketing tips. You may have seen us already on the web. We publish the list so that each of our members can add the list to their blog. In this way we create what we refer to as "Power Blogging". Power blogging is better than just blogging because with a group back linked together we become the ultimate in content rich material. 3. RSS Feeds RSS is a bit confusing at first. RSS means "Real Simple Syndication" and syndication is just another word for publishing. RSS is really two separate programs, one program runs on a server, the other program runs on a client. The program on the server takes information and puts it into a pre-set protocol (written in XML) and creates a web page on which it displays the information in an XML format. XML is another mark-up language like HTML created specifically for data exchange on the web. The other program is a client side program that "unpacks" the XML page and displays it in a manner more pleasing to the eye. RSS feeds are simply a way to transmit data from one website to another in a dynamic way. By placing an RSS feed on your website created on another website, you add content to your website in a seamless way that spiders can easily read and so can people visiting your website. Spiders like lots of new content and since you can publish an RSS feed in on one website and display it on any number of websites you have an instant way of creating new content on all of the websites.
Veretekk has a method of creating an RSS feed that you update like a blog and then when you post it, you can have it show up instantly on all 42 Veretekk portals and any additional sites that you set up in the easy to update window. This is a quick way to add content to all of your websites and control it in just one place.
Putting an RSS feed onto your website is as easy as creating a hyperlink to the RSS feed source. There are a lot of buttons out on the web to choose from. To use one simply right click on the button and click on properties. In the properties popup window you will find the URL of the button. To create the link you use an anchor tag with the href pointing to your RSS feed XML page and for the display text use an image tag pointing at the button. So it would look like this ‹a href="http://URLofTheWebSite.com/RSSFeedURL.xml"›‹img src="http://URLofTheButton.com/images.gif""›‹/a"› If you are able to access the directories on you website servers you can install a program that will display the RSS feed on your website rather than just the button.
4. Business Relationships Business is always carried out by people who know, like and trust each other. Business is not carried out by a person and a computer or a computer and a computer. So, what about Amazon? Amazon has built a know, like and trust relationship with its customers by using people to foster the relationship with the company. Amazon by itself is nothing without the people. People are willing to suspend the personal contact because Amazon has done a great job building its reputation as a company of people willing to service the needs of the customers. No "Brand" survives without "customer service" and customer service people are the people in a corporation the make the "Brand" work. So, if you want to market on the internet you need to either personally build the "know, like and trust" relationship or you need people who work for you to build the "know, like and trust" relationship. If you are like a lot of internet marketers you are working for yourself so it is you who must build the "know, like and trust" relationship.
How does one build the "know, like and trust" relationship? First and formost you must "connect" with your customers, partners or joint venture partners. One of the best ways to connect is to learn what we call "color personality technology". For thousands of years it has been known that personalities fall into four distinct groups. These group names have been the subject of many different monikers such as: sanguine, red bile, yellow bile, phlematic, caloric, thinkers, feelers, etc. to name a few.
What we found was that you will forget the various names pretty easily so the best way to describe these personalities is to use the primary colors, red, green, blue and yellow which are not only easy to remember, they are hard to forget. Then associate each personality type with a color. There are two continuums along which we can separate the personality types one is the "Direct-Indirect" continuum and the other is the "Open-SelfContained" continuum. So if we put thest two continuums at right angles we define four distinct personality types demonstrated by the following table:
The "Yellow" Personality type is described as Indirect and Open; The "Blue" personality is Direct and Open; The "Green" personality is Indirect and Self Contained; and the "Red" personality is Direct and Self-Contained. With this basic scheme we can add additional information to each personality type and create a more complete picture of each personality so that you get an idea of what the person is like who displays that personality, but better yet you can determine in advance the kinds of things that you should focus on when you talk to that person so that you can connect with them.
Yellow Indirect Open | Blue Direct Open | Green Indirect Self-Contained | Red Direct Self-Contained |
